Growing godly generations

"that the next generation might know [the LORD], the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell to their children, so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments."
Psalm 78:6-7

GOOD NEWS

Our world is filled with bad news. Jesus came to give us good news.
The good news of Jesus is light has come into the world and the darkness cannot overcome it. We don't have to walk in darkness or worship in the shadows. Grace is found in the gospel of Jesus. Growth is found in the community of Jesus.
You are invited to take a step in grace and growth with Severna Park Baptist Church.

Our Vision

Severna Park Baptist Church is a family of faith. We are not perfect, but we are pressing on in the grace and goodness of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus is central to who we are and what we do.

Our vision for church is growing godly generations through...

  • United in gospel membership and urgent in Jesus' mission.
  • Impacting the spiritually lost through proclaiming the gospel with our lips and promoting the gospel with our lives.
  • Impacting the spiritually disconnected through church strengthening and church starting.
  • Impacting the fragmented family through enriching marriages, encouraging parents, and equipping families for relational unity and spiritual purpose.
  • Impacting the generationally segmented through intergenerational worship and ministry experiences.
  • Impacting the racially divided through an honest reflection and an hospitable church culture with multi-ethnic ministries and partnerships.
  • Impacting the disinterested community through tangible acts of love and service in the name of Jesus.

Groups to grow

We were made for connection. The gospel of Jesus has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other to know and be known.

We encourage you to connect with our Groups

  • We have one co-ed adult group that meets Sundays 9:30am. Here we use "The Gospel Project", which is a 3-year study through all 66 books of the Bible. Our children & youth ministry also meets during this time to learn from the same curriculum with the age-graded learning.
  • We also have multiple small groups, also known as "Gospel Family Groups" with about 4-8 families who gather for friendship, faith, and mission. Our Groups are the backbone of our church. And don't worry where you are in the faith journey, we can all learn from each other no matter what. In our groups we become part of a community of friends where we learn, laugh, love, and even lament in our life experiences.
  • We seek to go deeper in making disciples through "Gospel Formation Groups." Here we have groups of the same gender who meet regularly to hold one another accountable in God's word shaping our head, heart, and hands.

Groups are located throughout our Severna Park/Anne Arundel community. Contact office for more information.

MEMBERSHIP

Church membership is meaningful because it's a declaration that you believe in and belong to God. When you identify with a local church, you become a visible expression of Christ's body, hands, and feet.

Getting to know a church takes time and becoming a member is a process. For those interested, we have an orientation that shares our basic beliefs, church story, and values for ministry. Feel free to contact our church office or one of our pastors for scheduling an orientation.
